Blueprint Cleanse Aftermath.

blueprint cleanse

I came, I saw, I cleansed. After 3 days of solid juicing on the Blueprint Cleanse I can’t wait to share my thoughts with you. As expected with any cleanse, there was good things & bad things. Before I go into my experience lets review the rules of the Blueprint Cleanse:

  • 6 juices a day
  • Minimum 64oz of water a day
  • Drink the last juice of the day at least 2 hours before going to sleep

That is all. No solids, nothing else, just juice & water. Here’s how the cleanse treated me:

Day One

I woke up & had the green juice made with kale, apple, ginger, romaine, spinach, cucumber, celery, parsley & lemon. I was a little hesitant to have this juice because I’ve read that it tastes awful but at 8AM when I drank the first one I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t that bad. I wouldn’t say it was delicious but it wasn’t that bad. It took me about 20 minutes to finish the juice because it’s so heavy — like, I felt like I ate an entire meal after finishing the juice heavy.

At about 10:30AM I had my first “snack” juice: pineapple, apple, mint (or PAM) — this juice was delicious! I have a huge sweet tooth & the juice was very sweet, right up my alley. I inhaled this juice & loved the sweet treat mid morning. Around lunch time I was amazed I wasn’t hungry, not even a little bit. I was at a baby shower full of delicious treats & managed to look the other way as I enjoyed another green juice around 2PM. Perhaps it was because I felt full but I had a hard time drinking the green juice this time around, taking several minutes to finish it.

4PM came & I had another “snack” juice, the lemon, cayanne, agave. A long time ago I did the master cleanse & as a result was terrified of drinking this juice! You can definitely taste the cayenne in it & it has a kick but trust me when I tell you it’s WAY better than the master cleanse lemonade you drink while on it. I sipped this one slowly due to the cayenne, found it refreshing on a hot Florida summer day.

At around 7PM I couldn’t bring myself to drink another green juice (Beet juice is usually the dinner juice but I tried it at the store & my stomach rebelled so I decided to stick with green juice for meals). I opted to skip it & have the cashew, vanilla, agave, cinnamon which was delicious! This juice tasted like dessert & I loved that! This juice is a major winner.

Day Two

I kept the times the same as day one, for consistency. I had the juices in the same order, opting to skip the green juice for dinner again. Though I had a normal amount of energy on day one day two was totally different, I actually felt a little sick. Perhaps it was the cleanse, or me just getting over a big cold that made me feel sick but nonetheless it wasn’t fun. I didn’t exert a lot of energy, took it easy most of the day. This was by far the hardest day of the cleanse.

Day Three

By now I was totally sick of the green juice, so not fun to have it for breakfast. I was still liking the PAM juice & really enjoyed it. Around lunch time I began to feel dizzy, I was in a meeting & felt very weak. I decided I had to listen to my body & had a small simple salad for lunch (skipped the green juice), that seemed to do the trick cause I felt back to normal after that. I made the salad the cleanest as possible: lettuce, tomato, avocado, little dressing. I had the lemonade for snack & once again the cashew drink for dinner. My energy levels before the salad were very low but as soon as I had salad I was renewed! I know that’s not part of the cleanse but hey, if you’re feeling like you’re going to pass out its best to have a little something, at least in my book. I stuck with juices the rest of the day & did not regret the salad intermission.

I decided to do the Blueprint Cleanse because I’ve been sick & bloated lately, wanted to reset my body. An indulgent summer of food & drinks had taken a toll on my body & I wanted to give it some time to rest. In that sense, I feel the cleanse helped me accomplish my purpose. It takes far less energy for your body to break down juice than it does solid food. Juicing also really made me regular (sorry if it’s TMI), I feel like my body really did cleanse. That said, I’m typically a high energy person & this cleanse made me sluggish. I know that several people claim to feel great on it but I’m not going to lie to you, I didn’t feel fabulous, I felt meh. That said, I’m glad I did it because I can start on a clean slate, I feel less bloated & am ready to eat nutritious meals.

What’s next? I’m taking this week off of any cleanse & enjoying the holiday weekend at home (hello Miami!), then coming back to do the Crazy Sexy Diet. More on that later!

Would you ever do a liquid cleanse?
