As my marathon training continues to ramp up I’m coming to a realization: I need more yoga in my life. There was a time when I was doing yoga often & it showed in a multitude of ways. I was more relaxed, looser, calmer. Leaner, tighter, stronger. My poses were more stable, I was seeing progress in all areas…& then I switched gyms, stopped going to yoga & here I am now — all kinds of rusty, doing yoga maybe a couple of times a month.
In the midst of marathon training, school, dating & work I lost sight of my love for yoga. A practice than when done often changes your life in more ways than one. This week I got reacquainted with my inner yogi, compliments of Full Circle Yoga.
My friend Mary (Hi Mary!) recently discovered the gem that is Full Circle & raved so much about it I simply had to check it out. Tucked in quaint Winter Park Full Circle Yoga is one of the best studios I’ve ever been to. The staff is friendly & welcoming. The instructors are experts, giving their students lots of attention, correcting their poses & teaching modifications. The space is clean, colorful, beautiful.
Since I haven’t been practicing regularly I opted for a beginners class — it was just what I needed! Debbie, our awesome instructor was incredible. She walked us through a great flow class that left me feeling rejuvinated, serene, thankful to have a body that works hard for me. Needless to say I will be going back to Full Circle often!
After yet another great yoga session I got home ready to devour a delicious meal. I wanted something quick, tasty & fulfilling, lucky for me I had just the thing in my fridge — Birds Eye Primavera Vegetable Risotto! The wonderful Foodbuzz Tastemakers Program sent me a package of Birds Eye Steamfresh Chef’s Favorites which will hit the markets next month.
Just a quick four minutes in the microwave yielded creamy vegetable risotto. Though it was a little bland for my liking so I added some salt, pepper & garlic powder. Overall, the texture & taste was good; a great solution to a quick, filling meal when you’re on the go. I paired the risotto with garlic seared mushrooms (olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, fresh parsley, pinch of salt & pepper) for a delicious & hearty meal. Nom!
