Harry Potter Butterbeer.
November 8, 2010 by CarolinaThose of you who have been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter know the butterbeer is to die for. Made popular by the book, this delicious drink is now available for us to try, at the park or at home. With the premiere for the next Harry movie almost upon us, now is the time to partake in butterbeer. Grab your mug, lets make us a drink…
Ingredients
1/4 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Half & Half
1/4 TSP Salt
1 TSP Vanilla Extract
Vanilla Ice Cream
Ginger Ale
Rum (Spiced Rum is delicious in this!)
In a small pot, whisk together the butter, sugar, half & half & salt over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil, bring heat to low & simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, whisk in the vanilla extract & let cool completely. You now have the butterscotch sauce for the beer.
To serve, grab your favorite mug & place a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it. Add one shot of rum. Drizzle a tablespoon or two (depending on how sweet you want it). Stir these ingredients together until the ice cream softens & blends with the butterscotch sauce. Pour ginger ale over top to fill the glass.
Drizzle the top with a little butterscotch sauce before serving & you’ve got butterbeer.
It’s like a dessert for grown ups you can drink! You’ll love it. Bottoms up!

Awesome, let me know what you think of it. Make sure to serve w/ a straw, it’s easier to dream that way (it’s foamy). Enjoy!
