I’ve been feeling sluggish lately, not only have I had a cold, I’ve had low energy & have been feeling bloated — not a good combination. In talking to a friend she mentioned maybe it was time to try a cleanse, give my body a chance to purge any toxins it may have & reboot. I’ve never been a fan of cleanses in the past, especially those that don’t allow you to eat any solid food. To me, the thought of just having liquids all day is as exciting as doing laundry all the time (I hate laundry). Nevertheless, I started researching cleanses to see what’s out there, what their effects on the body are & countless reviews. After weeks of researching I’ve settled on two cleanses I’m hoping to try, the BluePrint Cleanse & the Crazy Sexy Body Diet. Here’s why…
The BluePrint Cleanse is, you guessed it, a juicing only cleanse. So why the heck am I doing it you ask? For starters, it’s convenient: you buy the juices, no messy juicers involved (I’m not lucky enough to own a Vitamix…& yes, I do have Vitamix envy). I wanted to do a juicing cleanse that would not only be good for me but taste good! For me, in order to reap the benefits of cleansing someone has to want to do it first & foremost, no one wants to drink things that taste horrible! I like that Blueprint makes the process easy & customizes the different levels of the cleanse to different levels of nutritional/dietary history. I also love that BluePrint was invented by nutritionists, it’s not a crazy only drink lemonade cleanse but rather one that equips you with several juices full of the nutrients you need to thrive everyday. Since this is my first time doing this cleanse I’m starting with the first level, the renovation cleanse. I will be doing the cleanse for 3 days, drinking six juices a day, then reintroducing solids as recommended by BluePrint (fruits first, then vegetables, then grains). At the end of the cleanse I hope to reap some of the benefits described by others that have gone through it, to feel better than I do today & to use it as a reset after a summer of travel & indulgences.
