Adding One More to the Pod.

It’s been a bit of a crazy year for us–we moved to the United States and then to Boston sight-unseen (I’m still trying to figure out New England geography!). And later this year we’ll be adding a little one to the mix–I’m due with our first baby in December!
We’ve known for five months and we’re still wrapping our heads around the thought of being parents, but we’re excited to meet the newest member of our family. And, since we’re not finding out the gender–it’ll be a fun Christmas surprise!
I’m feeling really good–all in all it’s been an easy pregnancy. While some of that is genetic (and just plain luck)–I know some of it has to do with lifestyle. Here are some things that I think have helped me:
- Eating a well-balanced vegetarian diet. I haven’t had any crazy cravings–although I definitely have a sweet tooth. But, I’m very conscious about what I’m eating. I try to eat nutrient-dense foods and pay special attention to the amount of protein and calcium I’m getting. While I still have a chocolate stash at my desk–I also keep fruit and healthy snacks to keep me going during the day.
- Staying active. While I wish I would have been running and doing things like yoga during my pregnancy–I haven’t. But I do walk about 2 miles a day.
- Getting enough sleep. I’m almost always in bed 9 hours before I have to get up to ensure I get 8 hours of sleep.
I’m officially in the third trimester–any tips for the last few months?
