Mount Nelson Tea, Cape Town, SA.
January 13, 2012 by CarolinaThe first time I went to London I fell in love with tea time – I loved taking time off to sit down & share a sip of tea & crumpets with friends and loved ones. I was happy to discover tea time is alive & well in Cape Town at the Mount Nelson Hotel. The Mount Nelson offers two tea times: morning tea & afternoon tea. Katie, our dear friend Melyssa & I decided to start off the day with cups of tea.
Morning tea comes with two pots of your choice of teas (they have a wide selection) & an assortment of treats (we’ll get to those in a second). Katie ordered Orange Rooibos, Melyssa ordered Jasmine & I went with the Mount Nelson blend, a black tea with touches of rose pedals in it.
I love black tea & the Mount Nelson did not disappoint; it was delicious! All three of us were really happy with our choices, so much so we each almost finished the two pots we received. To accompany our tea we had savory treats: cucumber & egg sandwiches, quiches, crossants, & sweet treats: creme puffs, cinammon rolls, apple cakes, chocolate torte…two words: SO GOOD.
After tea we took a stroll in the gardens & enjoyed the view of Table Mountain in the background.
The Mount Nelson tea was terrific & the hotel was delightful, an awesome activity to do while in Cape Town. Grab your girlfriends, enjoy some tea, sit back & relax. Huge fan!
