La Luce: Orlando, FL.
September 20, 2012 by CarolinaSeptember is Magical Dining Month in Orlando which means one thing for me: foodie heaven. For just $30 I (& you) get to enjoy a full course meal at some of the best restaurants in town, can’t beat that right? The way magical dining month works is this: restaurants have a set menu for you to pick an appetizer or salad, an entree & a dessert from, all for a flat fee of $30. This year, I took advantage of magical dining month & checked out La Luce, a rustic Italian restaurant in the Hilton Bonnet Creek — it was an awesome choice. We picked the restaurant because of its vegetarian-friendly selection, plus, you can’t go wrong with Italian!
I started my meal with a refreshing & light roasted beet & haricots salad with fennel, avocado & a delicious vinaigrette; it was the perfect start to the meal.
My friend ordered the Insalata Misti with organic lettuce, an herb goat cheese crostini & a cabernet vinaigrette.
Now it was time for the main course. I went with the ravioli stuffed with ricotta & pesto & a duo of tomato & lemon sauces. The dish was the perfect size, seasoned to perfection, a very good ravioli!
My friend enjoyed the silk handkerchiefs: hand crafted pasta with pesto & pecorino romano cheese. We both agreed the pasta selection at La Luce did the Italian motif justice, both dishes were very good.
Time for my favorite course: dessert. I am the biggest tiramasu lover in the world so I had to give La Luce’s version a try. The tiramasu was creamy & decadent, everything you expect from an excellent tiramasu.
Butterscotch pudding caught my friend’s eye &, I did you not, my friend could not stop ooh-ing & aah-ing over how delicious it was. I tried this dessert & understood the reaction: it was amazing! The kind of dessert you want to have every single bite of — so good!
After dinner we walked around the lobby (they have an awesome bar that seemed to be very popular), took a peek at the beautiful pool (they have a lazy river) & called it a night. Our experience at La Luce was excellent, so if are ever close to the Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort stop by & enjoy delicious Italian food!
What’s your favorite Italian restaurant?

That pasta looks wonderful! Can’t go wrong with homemade pasta.
