I’m back from beautiful California! To say I had a good time in Los Angeles & Santa Barbara would be an understatement — I had a blast! Nestled in the beautiful mountains, surrounded by sunshine, ocean breeze & restaurants as far as the eye can see, California did not disappoint. Among one of the best meals I had while out on the west coast was breakfast at The Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach in ridiculously gorgeous Santa Barbara. Breakfast is one of my favorite meals, perhaps because it’s so vegetarian friendly: toasts, coffee, french toasts…all vegetarian, all delicious…all excellent at the Boathouse.
I ordered the Florentine Omelette: Egg whites, Swiss cheese, spinach, mushrooms & onion served with breakfast potatoes & a toasted English muffin. Healthy & satisfying!
My friend ordered the Huevos Hope Ranch: Free range eggs sunny side up over warm tortillas, black beans, fresh salsa, queso fresco with sliced avocado & sour cream.
We were both in love with our meals, accompanied with fresh coffee & a beautiful view of the beach, there is no better place to enjoy breakfast in Santa Barbara! If you’re ever out in Santa Barbara take a stroll down Hendry’s Beach & make sure to check out Boathouse for breakfast; it’s a must!

I’ve heard great things about Santa Barbara–glad you had fun! Breakfast food is definitely a favorite of mine as well. My favorite place in Walker Bros. outside of Chicago.

I love going to SoCal, and both of your meals looked amazing. There are so many good breakfast/brunch places here, that I can’t pick. I used to hate breakfast, and now it’s one of my favorite meals!
