Blossom, New York, NY.
November 17, 2011 by CarolinaOne of my favorite things about visiting NYC is the food selection, the restaurants are incredible. As a vegetarian in Orlando I don’t have too many solely vegetarian or vegan options here but I sure do in NYC. On my last visit I headed to Blossom, a gourmet, organic, vegan restaurant in the Chelsea area.
Blossom is chic, luxurious & has a great intimate atmosphere. As soon as we walked in we were excited to try their delicious dishes (Blossom came highly recommended). I ordered a wild mushroom tart.
The tart featured a variety of mushrooms & a divine beet sauce that put this dish over the top — every bite was delicious! It was just the right size & the flavors in the dish really complimented each other, I loved it. My dinner companion ordered the port wine seitan.
The port really stood out in the sauce & the accompanying garlic mashed potatoes were a show stealer. The potatoes were so creamy I couldn’t believe they did not use any cream, I could of eaten those potatoes all day long. Amazing!
We couldn’t walk away without trying their delicious desserts. Since I’m addicted to chocolate I ordered the chocolate genache with soy vanilla ice cream.
You don’t miss the dairy in this dish one bit; it’s creamy, chocolate goodness in every spoonful. My friend went with the featured dessert of the day, a vanilla & chocolate mouse parfait.
The vanilla was strong but in a good way; this dessert was very rich.

Mushroom tarts are so hard for me to resist whenever they’re on a menu. I love them!

Both the dessert & tart were incredible. Highly recommend Blossom if you’re ever in NYC!
