Hiking the Rocky Mountains.
July 12, 2012 by CarolinaDid you know exercise could be fun? Most people think of exercise as a chore they have to do but that doesn’t have to be the case, there are various ways to exercise & have fun. When I was in South Africa I hiked Table Mountain & the Cape of Good Hope, got plenty of exercise, saw amazing views & loved every minute of it. Naturally, one of the things I was most excited about while in Colorado was hiking the beautiful Rocky Mountains National Park.
The Rockies did not only meet my expectations, they blew them out of the water – the panoramas were absolutely beautiful! The air was fresh & crisp, the wildlife was abundant, the hikes were vast & this nature loving girl was a happy camper. We were in the Rockies for a couple of days so we jammed as many hikes as we could. Here are the hikes we went on & loved:
Nymph > Dream > Emerald Lake
Lake Haiyaha > The Lochs > Timberline Falls
Glacier Gorge > Alberta Falls
Words can’t describe how beautiful the Rockies were, you just have to see it for yourself. In all we hiked over 18 miles, got a great workout & loved being out in the mountains. After this trip I know I want to make more of an effort to enjoy nature, explore it, spend time in it; it’s rejuvenating, invigorating, truly a great experience.
Have you hiked any great places? Share them with us, we’d love to hear about them!

What breathtaking views! Hikes are so nice. I wish we had mountains like that in Florida. My family went to Tennessee one year on vacation, and the hiking was gorgeous there as well.

I hiked Rocky Mountain National Park a few years ago, and I LOVED IT! I almost moved out there but backed out at the last minute. I need to go back for a vacation! You took some awesome photos!

Awesome pics! I recently got into hiking thanks to the Blend retreat in Colorado. We hiked one of the Flat Irons, moving at a pretty fast pace. I loved the challenge!
It would be really cool to hike Everest one day… not sure how to make that happen yet though.

I love the little hike to Bear Lake! It’s so pretty there. In a couple of weeks, I’ll be heading up to Glenwood Springs to hike Hanging Lake, which is supposed to be one of the most beautiful hikes in Colorado. I. Can’t. Wait!
