Challenge Complete!
July 2, 2012 by CarolinaA month ago I decided to take part of my yoga studio’s challenge: 26 practices in 30 days…I’m here to say I completed it! I completed 26 practices & over 34 hours of yoga in June & I’ll be honest, it wasn’t easy. There were bad days, tired, sore days, but the good days far outweigh the bad. I still haven’t perfected crow yet that doesn’t matter because I’ve learned some incredible lessons this past month. This challenge was great all around: I was able to make a habit out of practicing, to feel more balanced & centered, & to have an overall better outlook on life.
So what happens now you ask? Well, I plan on continuing to practice about 5 times a week. I’ve loved how my body feels practicing regularly & definitely want to keep that going. I’m also continuing the Chalean Extreme Challenge (what can I say? I like challenges) & am wrapping up the last 30 days of that (60 day update to come very soon); the next month will continue to be yoga & Chalean-filled. What about running you ask? I’m signed up for the ING Miami Half Marathon in January so I’m waiting for the temperatures to drop a little here in Florida before I start training up again in the Fall. I do miss running so I’m excited to get back into the swing of it come Fall!
Lastly, these challenges have really inspired me to create challenges of my own to follow with friends. Working out is always easier when you have someone to do it with you or hold it accountable, so if you’re struggling with sticking to a program (like I do, many times), I recommend starting a challenge of your own. What challenge would you start with friends? After I’m done with the Chalean Extreme Challenge I plan on doing another yoga challenge with a friend, & potentially take up Insanity. Three cheers for an active summer!

Congrats lady… not only did you finish, but you did it EARLY. As you like to say, you were in “beast mode” all June!
I’ll see you in yoga soon.
