Chalean Extreme.

If we’re friends on DailyMile you might have noticed I’ve been logging a lot of Chalean Extreme workouts lately (if we’re not friends, what are we waiting for? Let’s do this!), that’s because I’m doing a 90 day Chalean Extreme challenge. What exactly is the challenge you ask? Here’s the scoop…

A few weeks ago I was chatting with my favorite fitness instructor (she teaches Turbo Kick & Hip Hop Hustle, among other amazing classes), Alli Vaughn, about taking full advantage of my summer schedule (no grad school over the summer means more free nights!). Though I’m a cardio junkie (running, dancing, etc) I will confess, I know little about weights! I’ve reached a point in my fitness journey where I want to focus on getting toned & strong (I think CrossFit has a lot to do with that). In order to get strong I really need to focus on weights. Alli suggested I join her in a monthly challenge she holds for a small group of people she wants to help/work with — I was immediately on board!

Here’s how the challenge works: There’s about 10 of us in the group, each of us is doing a different Beachbody program that meets our fitness goals. For the next 90 days we have commited to follow the program, keep each other accountable every day & track our progress. We started the challenge on May 7 & I’m currently on week 3 of Chalean Extreme; I will be measuring myself every 30 days to track the changes. And just like I shared my results with 4-Hour Body with you I will be sharing my Chalean Extreme results with you.

As always, my opinion will be honest. I share my fitness adventures in the hopes to they may help you find an activity (like running, yoga, CrossFit), or a program that could potentially work for you. Fitness & a healthy lifestyle are not only important, but fun if you find the right outlet! 

Be on the lookout for an update from me the first week of June detailing the first 30 days. In the interim, make sure to friend me on DailyMile & let’s keep each other accountable!

  1. I did Beachbody workouts at home “back in the day” – as in pre-P90X days. I really enjoyed them and they were what I needed at the time. Today, I look for things that help support my training and those training plans are not quite the right thing for my goals – but I still think they look like fun. :)

  2. I like the Tone It Up workouts, but other than that, I’m not much of an at home workout person. I’d rather go for a run or bike!

  3. I heard her videos are awesome! Now that I’m not training for a month or so, I’m going to refocus on toning, too! Good luck!

  4. One of my close friends did this series and LOVED it. She actually ended up losing a ton of weight and got really into working out again. I hope you enjoy it too!!

  5. I am currently doing this program. I love it. I am a cardio person but I decided to give this a try. I have two workouts left in the lean phase. I have lost 20 lbs and 10% of my body fat. Most of all I feel great. This program works. It is hard work but it is worth it.
